Contract No. N00383-99-C-0002N
DTB is under a $20M contract to NAVICP in
Philadelphia PA to provide Engineering and Technical
Services for the testing and quality assurance of
aircraft parts and components. Testing programs
include first article, production and evaluation
programs. Programs are also performed for DSCC, DSCR,
NAVAIR and US Coast Guard using this contract. These
programs provide the US Navy and other government
agencies with surveillance testing as well as life
extension, reverse engineering, design data and
technical documentation, modeling and
prototype generation/prove out.
During this contract, DTB was instrumental in the
research and development of a hard face coating
process for all Navy hook points and stingers. The
intent of the hard face coating was to eliminate
cracking of the original coating while monitoring
life extension requirements. As a joint venture with
NAWC, Lakehurst, a technical paper describing
the process was published in the Welding Society
Journal.

Contract No. N68335-93-C0123
DTB was under a $1.1M contract to NAWC, Lakehurst NJ
to design, develop, manufacture and install 60
A/F-27T10 Automated Hydraulic Test Stands for both
land-based and shipboard installations. This program
included development of a system specification and
hardware design, software requirements analysis and
software development, reliability and
maintainability analysis and influence on the system
design, and human factors analysis to ensure optimum
usability of the test stand. Since this test stand
operates at 8000 psi, design considerations placed
significant emphasis on safety studies.
Additional emphasis was placed on configuration
management, and quality assurance since this program
included delivery of 60 identical test stands. A
comprehensive first article test and evaluation
phase was included as part of the design process. In
consideration of total life cycle support, this
program required the conduct of a comprehensive LSA
program. This program also required the development
of all associated support documentation, including
engineering drawings, design reports, operation and
maintenance manuals, provisioning data and training
materials. As a major program, this project required
the establishment of a Project Office with
associated Administrative Staff.

Contract No. DAH23-99-C-R001
DTB was under a $ 12M contract to AMCOM in
Huntsville AL to perform part verification and
validation from a dimensional and metallurgical
standpoint on US Army helicopter flight safety
parts. DTB has direct experience and ability in
testing helicopter parts from a fatigue as well as a
parts conformance standpoint. DTB’s history
encompasses the performance evaluation and fatigue
qualification testing of original equipment
manufacturer (OEM) parts as well as alternate source
parts. DTB has performed conformance inspections of
over 350 parts and their subcomponents across all
U.S. Army helicopter platforms. DTB’s technical
findings have played a major contribution in
minimizing the deployment of faulty or unsafe
equipment to the field. Each part is subjected to a
critical dimensional and metallurgical analysis.
